Barking Owl Retreat comprises of 2 x private luxury fully self contained Cottages, on a 41 acre Farmstay, tucked away in a secluded valley on the Atherton Tablelands.

Wake to the sound of bird songs, relax and take in the views, and wildlife from your private back deck. soak in the double Spa (Dingo's Lair), take a stroll on the property, or drop a line in the property Dam and catch a Sooty Grunter (Black Bream). Fishing equipment is supplied or you are welcome to bring your own.

"Barking Owl Retreat" was aptly named due to the abundance of Barking Owls in the area. There is also a large variety of beautiful Australian Native Birds and Wildlife to be seen in the area.

Barking Owl Retreat comprises of two fully self contained Cottages with open plan style living. The newly renovated cottages decor resembles the colours of a Barking Owl, and have modern amenities and country touches to make you feel at home. Both cottages are ideally suited to couples, but can sleep up to a maximum of 4 guests.

The cottage features are similar, both “Owl’s Hollow” and “Dingo’s Lair” features a Double Spa. "Owl's Hollow" has views across the paddock to the cattle yards with a mountain back drop and "Dingo's Lair" has valley views and a seasonal Dam. Both cottages are nestled seperately alongside Native Bushland where the resident Barking Owls nest.

There are no minimum night stay requirements.

To ensure an uninterrupted stay, the cottages are serviced once on a Weekly stay only, although extra servicing can be arranged for an additional Fee. For your privacy fresh towels are delivered only when requested.

Barking Owl is centrall located in Kairi, just over an hours self-drive from the Cairns Airport, or a short drive from the Historical village of Yungaburra and just minutes from Lake Tinaroo Dam.
